Loftie Focus Browser Extension - Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 22, 2026
The short version: Loftie Focus keeps your guardrails, stats and settings in your browser. We don't track your browsing, and we don't sell anything. If you sign in to Henry, we use your email to sign you in, and the only other things that leave your device are what you choose to give Henry.
Who we are
Loftie Focus is a browser extension built by Loftie, Inc., a wellness technology company based in New York, US.
Without signing in
Everything in Loftie Focus works without an account, and nothing leaves your browser:
- We don't collect your name, email or other identifiers.
- We don't track your browsing history or the websites you visit.
- We don't use cookies, analytics services or tracking pixels.
If you sign in to Henry
Henry is part of a Loftie membership. Signing in is optional.
- Your email address. To sign in, you type your email and we email you a 6-digit code. We use your email to find your Loftie account, send the code, and check whether you're a member. Codes expire after 15 minutes.
- A sign-in token. Your browser keeps a token that keeps you signed in. We store only a one-way hash of it, which is deleted 90 days after you last use it, or when you sign out.
- Your IP address, briefly. To stop abuse of sign-in, we count sign-in attempts per network. We store a one-way hash of your IP address, never the address itself, and delete these counts after 2 days.
-
What you give Henry. Nothing goes to Henry unless you choose to send it, in one of two ways:
- On a paused site, you type what you came for and choose "Give it to Henry". We send what you typed and the name of the site.
- You right-click a page, a link or highlighted text and choose "Give to Henry". We send the page title, the link and any text you highlighted.
These go to Henry in your Loftie account, like anything you tell him in the Loftie app. Text from web pages is kept as a note, and Henry doesn't act on anything inside it. You can see and delete anything you've given Henry in the Loftie app.
Stored in your browser only
- Your guardrails: times, days, sites and site categories
- Your preferences: theme, name, message tone, labels, and how long guardrails stay off
- Focus timer settings
- Your stats (block counts and streaks), kept for 90 days
- Your passes: how many you've used today, and what you typed for a pass while it runs
- The description of the page you're on, briefly, to suggest sites to add. It's never sent anywhere.
- Your Email Check-ins schedule. On Gmail, the extension covers your inbox between check-ins. It doesn't read or send your email.
Browser sync
If your browser's sync is on (for example Chrome Sync or Firefox Sync), your guardrails and settings may sync across your devices through your browser maker's servers, under their privacy policy. We don't run any sync servers. Stats and your Henry sign-in are never synced.
Permissions and why we need them
- declarativeNetRequest: to pause sites by sending them to our paused page, and to let a site through during a pass
- storage: to save your guardrails, settings and stats in your browser
- alarms: to start and end guardrails, passes and the focus timer
- tabs and activeTab: to know which site you're on, for "Add this site" and suggestions, and to return a tab to the paused page when a pass ends
- contextMenus: for "Give to Henry" when you right-click
- Access to all sites: needed to pause any site you choose and to show the focus timer and Gmail check-ins. We don't collect what's on the pages you visit.
Services we use
These are only used if you sign in to Henry:
- Google Cloud (Firebase and Vertex AI): your Loftie account, sign-in, Henry's storage, and finding related things you've told him
- Postmark: to send your sign-in code
- Anthropic (Claude): Henry uses Claude to sort what you give him. It isn't used to train their AI.
We don't sell or share your information for advertising.
Children's privacy
Loftie Focus isn't directed to children under 13, and Henry sign-in is for Loftie account holders.
Deleting your data
- In your browser: uninstall the extension, or clear its storage in your browser settings.
- Henry sign-in: choose Sign out on the Henry tab.
- What you've given Henry: delete it in the Loftie app, or use "Delete my data" in Henry. You can also email support@loftie.com.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we'll update the date at the top. If a change needs a new browser permission, your browser will ask you to approve it.
Your rights
Under GDPR, CCPA and similar laws, you can ask to see, correct or delete personal data we hold about you. Email support@loftie.com.
